Rob’s interview, which appears in the first issue of his newsletter
This may be legend, but when my young grandparents found an affordable holiday on an island in Maine, they slept in a canvas tent, with burlap sacks for sleeping bags. Later, my parents took us camping there each year, too. I’m not sure about the burlap sacks, but I’m sure they did at least once wake up in puddles of water.
In an episode of the Write Club podcast, I’m interviewed about a sustainability writer’s process. I talk about my outdoorsy family’s influence on my writing and tell the story of a seaside shanty in a people-less terrain that inspired my forthcoming book.
